Meerwada Village

Because of the remote location or Meerwada, the village never had electricity until the SunEdison Eradication of Darkness Program. SunEdison created a 14 kWh microgrid that provides round the clock electricity.  The streets are now lighted for community interaction and safety, fans combat the heat and the day doesn't end when the sun sets.

Narmada Canal

The 1 MW power plant is suspended over a branch of the Narmada canal located in Sanad, a town in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.  The technically unique project delivering reliable  solar electricity to the region while helping reduce water loss associated with evaporation. Comprised MEMC Silvantis ™ solar modules, the solar power plant is expected to generate approximately 1.5 million kilowatt hours of solar energy annually.  And is projected to save close to 70 lakh litres or seven million liters of water annually.
