Solar Leadership Program
SunEdison launched the Solar Leadership Program (SLP) in 2012 to develop management talent for the company and prepare associates for future leadership roles at SunEdison. The SLP seeks graduate students in programs with an emphasis on broad commercial skills sets such as MBA and similar advanced degree programs with backgrounds in key functions such as engineering, operations, and finance.
The program emphasizes broad training across different functions and business units within the company, as well as mentorship and training. SLP Associates enjoy support from senior management and extensive exposure to SunEdison executives.
Full-time Associates complete four 6-month rotations in different business units, followed by placement into a management role in a functional area based on the Associate’s interests and SunEdison’s needs. Initial rotations are designed to solidify foundational skills such as project finance, marketing and operations. Later rotations allow Associates to work in additional functions such as business development, sales, project M&A, government affairs, design and engineering, supply chain, and commercial management across utility, distributed generation and residential business units.

Solar Development Program
The Solar Development Program (SDP) offers training and professional development to undergraduate or recent graduate school candidates. Over the course of two years, SDP analysts rotate through different departments, gaining a diverse array of experiences while facilitating knowledge sharing and interdepartmental collaboration. Analysts are mentored by mid-level managers and receive regular feedback and coaching with an emphasis on career path development. At the end of the two year rotational period, analysts can assume senior roles in a particular area of focus based on company need and personal preference.
SDP analysts in the past have worked on project pricing and analytics, strategic marketing, assessment of economic viability of project proposals, engineering design and operations across SunEdison’s utility, distributed generation and residential & small commercial market segments. Analysts support a variety of functions including sales, project finance, project management, government affairs, design & engineering, global services, supply chain & logistics.

Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP)
The Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP), based out of the corporate headquarters in St. Peters, MO, provides recent graduates with degrees in accounting, finance, or economics an opportunity to launch their careers in a fast-paced learning environment. This two-year program will have the associate rotate through four different six-month rotations, developing a multitude of technical skills and an understanding of a complex, global company. These rotations are combined with unique mentoring from mid-level and top-level managers, as well as a training curriculum focused on technical finance, industry economics, and leadership.
Potential rotations may include financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, treasury, tax accounting, segment financial analysis, operations accounting, internal audit and services finance.
