Jigar Shah, Chief Strategy Officer, is a renowned visionary committed to renewable energy who launched the company in 2003 based upon a business plan originally developed in 1999 for a university class. This plan became the basis for the SunEdison business model: to simplify solar as a service at long-term predictable pricing, rather than leaving it to organizations to incur significant capital costs through ownership and operation of solar energy systems.
Under his guidance, SunEdison was the first to pioneer a solar power services agreement (SPSA), which served as the foundation for much of the growth of the solar industry in the past five years.
